Carousel – Maad

Electro hip-hop duo Maad’s ‘Carousel’ consists of these entrancing vocals that ask the question in the addictive hook ‘are you going to the moon with me?’. It’s the perfect track for late autumn nights, as implied in the image above, through haunting instrumental experimentation and a suave melody.

Jello – Runaverse

‘Jello’ by singer-songwriter Runaverse is the first track on her new EP ‘Runa’. Amidst the fun melody and fluid production, the song encourages us to enjoy ourselves. Instrumentally there’s a thoughtful blend of recent trends as well as new sounds.

Come Alive (The Micronaut Remix) – The Micronaut

German multi-instrumentalist The Micronaut puts his own spin on WEZN’s ‘Come Alive’, enhancing the transcendent nature of the melody. Powerful electronic effects play in the soundscape, and the vocals really do ‘come alive’.

Rabbit Hole – Alaina Margaret Droog

‘Rabbit Hole’ – by folk-pop and indie singer-songwriter Alaina Margaret Droog – takes us straight to vocals, which take center stage with the lyrics. The song stands as a strong and exciting debut, with subtle but noticeable effects; the echo after ‘and I’ll only hear an echo’ and the pause after ‘there’s a line where heartache stops’.

SoSo – Será

The consistency of the infectious melody presented in ‘SoSo’ by indie pop-rock project Será is so impressive. The song foreshadows his upcoming album which represents the story of a young man who encounters painful truths as he works his way through the aftermath of a bad breakup. Hearing the strong vocals and dynamic instrumental of ‘SoSo’, we’ll be waiting eagerly for the album release!

5+5 – HUNNI

‘5+5’ by HUNNI, who were crowned the winners of The Voice UK in 2023, is characterised by glossy production and a modern sound that is addictively catchy. The vocal delivery is excellent and they create an atmosphere that elevates these vocals.

OMG – The Tullamarines

Adelaide-based four-piece The Tullamarines present ‘OMG’. It’s got such an upbeat, memorable melody, sprinkled with playful synths and a carefree spirit. Vocally, the tones are distinctive and equipped to carry such a lively tune.

LAST DANCE – Ocean Grove

Melbourne trio Ocean Grove have released ‘LAST DANCE’, which illustrates a fascinating mix of entrancing, almost mystical sounds that dominate the intro, and a heavier rock sound expressed in the chorus. The production is proficient and the vocals unite with the atmosphere.

I Feel The Rain – Morganway

Identified as their boldest rock track yet, Americana-Rock powerhouse Morganway unveil ‘I Feel The Rain’. There’s a captivating contrast between the thunderous instrumental as well as deep raspy vocals, compared to the high range showcased as the title is sung. Another invigorating blend involves the shift from violin solo to guitar solo; executed with style.
