I enjoyed the darker acoustic sound of ‘Uncertainty’. What was it that led to your shift from predominantly metal to incorporation of different sounds?
Max: “The subject of uncertainty is a subject that we have all been part of this last year, especially after the corona where life has become more difficult or we sometimes feel alone and also that everything has changed around us whatever it is in our professional or personal life. I launched myself into the folk rock style to tell my experiences which concern us all, something that I could not do in a technical death metal.”
You’ve experienced the band life and the solo artist life – what would you say is the most significant difference between the two when making music?
Max: “It’s faster and more precise to accomplish whatever in production or in music videos or even in album promotion.”
What are the main themes expressed on ‘Uncertainty’?
Max: “Uncertainty speaks of loneliness and not knowing what life holds tomorrow.”
Which sources of inspiration are relevant to your music – your surroundings, your imagination, other musicians?
Max: “None of this is experience that I have acquired over time and also a lot of life experiences it is easy for me to know how to start and how to finish by being visionary too.”
What is your favourite thing about the music scene?
Max: “It’s the clothing and the style of guitar you play, whether on stage or in the studio.”
And what is most challenging?
Max: “The most difficult thing is to look for professional and serious musicians who are motivated these days. It’s rare to work with someone who is good in music, whether in rock or metal music.”
What can listeners expect next from you?
Max: “I have already prepared a new single in the studio. It is an instrumental single with two guitars, a very talented guitarist and myself. It will be released in March or April. I hope that a lot of people will like it.”
