Wasn’t really expecting such a country sounding song for the first track, or really at all. Lyrics are still brilliant however.

9. My Demons
This song was at number four until I heard the other half of the album. I guess Kavinsky sounds and catchy hooks weren’t enough to top the next few unskippable tracks.

8. Long, Long, Long Time
This song I was honestly surprised it wasn’t the final track, and the final track is usually my favourite (just take a look at my Miles Kane and The Weeknd reviews). It’s a perfect combination of modern and old, but just doesn’t have the lyrics or production of the tracks ahead

7. Stay
Here we see an acoustic approach discreetly fade into dramatic yet somewhat minimalistic production which puts spotlight on the vocals, just to transform into a progressive sound that harmonises with the vocals and reminds me of British duo Let’s Eat Grandma.

6. Please Be Happy
From the title this sounds like it would be a similar song type as Long, Long, Long Drive, generating musical finale connotations. In fact it’s more like a musical ballad, allowing Curt and Roland’s voices to feel like they’re conducting an orchestra.

5. Rivers Of Mercy
At this point in the album how Tears For Fears made every song on the album sound different, this time serenading us with a gospel-esque melody that will certainly divide the fandom.

4. Master Plan
This was what everyone was expecting; the title, the beat, the instruments, the lyrics.

3. End Of Night
Feels a little more modernised than it’s predecessor Master Plan, taking inspiration from dream pop and electronic musicians – who ironically probably have taken inspiration from Tears For Fears themselves.

2. Break The Man
We are taken back to the 80s with this reiteration of classic Tears For Fears topics such as the Weather and interesting conversations, making it a fantastic single.

1. The Tipping Point
With video game like production on the intro and mystic backing vocals included on the chorus, I certainly did not expect the title track to be my absolute favourite (watch my seventh favourite be all over my Spotify stats now).
