“‘Overboard’ was an absolute pleasure as well as a breeze to review – the instrumental melody speaks for itself – with so many words to describe its graceful, classy air.”
Luxergo – project of Milan-based producer as well as composer Noel Mittmann – has just released ‘Overboard’. And being his first piano track, you would never guess, with such a smooth instrumental that flows through the melody with admirable ease and style.
With a slow tempo and enchantingly, almost melancholic sounds, a piano welcomes us to ‘Overboard’. Since when did melancholia sound so good? The instrumental progresses, gradually gaining more depth with newer sounds and feelings coming into play.
The melody shifts to quick tempo piano sequences that could represent feelings of urgency, excitement or perhaps simply a sudden change in events. Either way, it’s a gift for the ears. A higher instrumental range is also put on display, once again conjuring all possible feelings and atmospheres being communicated to us through such elegance and beauty.
“Overboard“ is the final result of a short piano melody that I wrote a year ago, which experienced many different versions and moods in this time. My first piano release with my project Luxergo. Pianists like Claude Debussy, Ryuichi Sakamoto or Yann Tiersen were important inspirational building blocks for this piece. My plan for the future is a mix of electronic and piano tracks with Luxergo.“
There’s no question that ‘Overboard’ leaves a lasting effect on us as listeners, reflecting on its charm and angelic nature, whether you favour neo-classical style music or not. Mittmann successfully creates this world with his music that we wander through with awe and say goodbye musically enlightened and enriched.
