Moonlight Shadow – Niclas Sólheim Højgaard, Minniva
Faroese musician Niclas Sólheim Højgaard and Norwegian singer Minniva return with another brilliant collaboration titled Moonlight Shadow. There’s a retro feel to this track, created through vintage pop-rock production as well as the beautifully theatrical vocal expression and timing of the melody. The title Moonlight Shadow ignites a cinematic imagery that manifests itself in power pop.

Table For Two – Mel Raeburn
Cheshire singer-songwriter Mel Raeburn has been crafting new melodies since her Richard Ashcroft cover featured in the 2024 John Lewis Christmas Advert, and Table For Two is a fantastic debut. In the midst of an irresistibly catchy melody, each lyric rolls off the tongue so smoothly, as Raeburn details the ambiguity of a new romance. In contrast to the uncertainty of the lyrics, there’s a warmth to the instrumental/vocal blend that drew me in and stayed with me up until the last beat.

third degree – Ella Rosa
UK-born LA-based artist Ella Rosa released third degree this month, a fast-paced track that spoils us with sumptuous electronica production. Repetition is interpolated cleverly, and Ella Rosa is not afraid to play around with pitch and pace, showcasing just how versatile her vocals are. Lyrically the song is coolly confessional, some lines written almost like a diary entry.
