Younnex Releases His Moving Melody ‘Magnolia’

“‘Magnolia’ by Younnex has all the feeling and all the flow for an authentic melody.”

Singer-songwriter from Colombia Younnex has unveiled his single ‘Magnolia’ recently. As a musician of great imagination and many stories to tell, this melody is dedicated to his late grandmother, making it all the more special and personal. And we can tell that Younnex really poured his heart and soul into this release.

A well-produced intro eases us in, sparking intrigue, and then the vocals set in nicely, showing off not only deep tones but also deep emotion. Upon first listen, the melody has slightly melancholic tones, and this is emphasised in vocal tone and instrumentally. And this gets ever stronger throughout.

Delving further into the instrumental, we notice that it has a calming quality that allows the vocals to take the spotlight, but still subtly showing off its techniques. This way in which ‘Magnolia’ is structured adds great texture to the song, producing a balance of eloquence and expression.

As for the lyrics and meaning, Younexx revealed to us a significant lyric, words that his grandmother, whom the song is made for, often said; “Hoy te amo mas que ayer pero menos que manana” which translates to “I love you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow.” This really gives the song this meaningful essence and impact, perhaps acting as an encapsulation of it.

Younnex keeps up the intrigue as ‘Magnolia’ proceeds, revealing some more intimate vocals in the song as we’ve reached the second half of the song. He also chooses to end the melody similarly, and it’s evidently a great way to leave a lasting effect on the listener, allowing them to take in the depth of the lyrics and powerfully emotive atmosphere.
