Madisine Combines A Fantastic Tune With A Rare Level Of Candour on ‘My Truth’

“Madisine has certainly shown us just how musically adventurous and refreshing his sound is through the alt-rock bliss of ‘My Truth’.”

Singer-songwriter Madisine released ‘My Truth’ as the last single to build the anticipation for his July EP release ‘Sick Lie’. With his layered, rich sound and powerful vocals that convey emotion in parallel with the lyrics we are hearing, ‘My Truth’ is the perfect melody to pique your interest in Madisine’s artistry.

A mysterious, entrancing instrumental is how ‘My Truth’ begins. And as the vocals set in, this instrumental eventually becomes heavier and heavier. Yet, the vocals are not drowned out. Instead, they blend superbly with the alt-rock atmosphere, not dissimilar to the likes of Pavement and Hope Of The States, as Madisine brags an impressive range.

These vocals continue with an unwavering devotion to the melody. And up until a certain point in the song we had heard this heavy sound as well as heavy emotion. However, a gradual shift to a more delicate, lighter sound occurs and this is how the song fades out as Madisine repeats gently and smoothly Your face is changing, my face is changing.

Madisine said in regards to the meaning behind the melody; “‘My Truth’ was written from stories of close friends’ experiences of violence and abuse.”

I think it’s safe to say Madisine is in the process of cementing his reputation in the indie community as someone with a mature rock sound. There’s undoubtedly enough creativity and originality here for the artist to continue excelling in his genre.
